Great coffee. Good food. Serious horsepower.
A car & motorsport-themed café in the grounds of the Haddo Estate near Ellon, just a short drive from Aberdeen, where a proper flat white, a fresh bake and a lap of Formula 1 all share the same table. Petrolheads, families and dogs all welcome.
Welcome to The Drive
The Drive at Haddo is Aberdeenshire’s home for car culture and a really good cup of coffee. Set in the former Formartine’s building on the Haddo Estate, an easy drive from Aberdeen, we’ve created a bright, open space split into a relaxed café and a dedicated motorsport lounge, with sofas, big screens and the racing always on. If you’re hunting down the best Aberdeen coffee, we reckon we’re well worth the trip out of town.
Whether you’re stopping in after a woodland walk around Haddo Country Park, meeting friends for lunch, or rolling in with the car club on a Sunday morning, there’s a comfy seat and a warm welcome waiting. We’re more than just another of the coffee shops near Aberdeen. It’s a proper day out, and one of the more unexpected things to do in Aberdeenshire.

I love the drive at Haddo, great vibe, the cafe is expanding it options all the time. Most recently motorsport themed burgers have been added to the menu. Coffee and Cake is spot on too. Great to visit when car clubs are in, or at themed days. I’ve been a few times, including Porsche days, Mini days etc. If you are an automotive enthusiast this is a must visit. Staff are all friendly and the venue is massively dog friendly. Lastly if you visit, your car (and dog) will likely be photographed and linked to the days visitors. Always cool to spot your car on the page.

The Drive at Haddo is an amazing new cafe with some great motorbikes inside and some interesting old vintage cars seen in the car park. The layout and decor sets in with the theme of the cafe. You can sit in and have meal inside our outside and if you have the kids they can play in the secure fenced play area. The food is delicious and the coffee is great with nice friendly staff looking after you. Overall the experience was great and I will definitely be back.
For the petrolheads
The Drive was built with car culture at its heart. Our motorsport lounge, fitted with screens, sofas and bench seating, is the perfect place for automotive enthusiasts and car clubs to congregate, talk shop and show off their vehicles in the car park out front, one of the best places to visit in Aberdeenshire if you love cars.
From breakfast meets to summer gatherings, there’s plenty of room to roll in and park up. Got a club run or an event in mind? We’d love to host you.

Making a day of it
We’re on the Haddo Estate, about two miles from Haddo House itself, roughly a five minute drive, or a proper walk if you fancy stretching your legs first.
Haddo House and the surrounding country park make a grand day out: the Palladian mansion and its gardens, the lake, the woodland trails and the wildlife hides. We’re a few minutes down the road when you’re ready for a coffee and a sit down.
Roll up after a walk round the lake and there’s a proper flat white waiting, fresh cakes and bakes, and hot food from 11:30. Muddy boots are fine, and so is the dog. Ours is a genuinely dog friendly café, water bowls and all. The kids can burn off whatever they have left in the play area while you get a second coffee, and parking is free right at the door.
